Your Board of Directors continues working toward our goal of establishing WAGA, the Western Region of the National Amputee Golf Association (NAGA), as the Amputee and Adaptive Golf Association in the western US. With the help of Dave Dodds Web Development, we have now completely rebuilt our website, designed to better serve our membership, sponsors and the disabled golf community. Our new secure web address is https://wagagolf.org/ . Please use the site as much as possible so that we can rise up the search engine algorithm for those who may search for amputee/disabled golf information here in the western US.
Sign-ups are now open for the 75th NAGA Amputee and Adaptive Golf Championships at the Emerald Valley Golf and Resort in Creswell, Oregon, from September 15-19, 2024. An Adaptive Golf Clinic will be held on Sunday, September 14th at the new Oregon Ducks Golf Training Center, Monday Practice Rounds on the 15th followed by a 54-hole USAGR and WR4DG world-ranking championship event with the goal of attracting the highest-ranked amputee and adaptive golfers from around the world, in what promises to be the benchmark for all highly competitive amputee and adaptive golf tournaments. We hope to see many WAGA members at this important national event.
With that said, WAGA is also proud to present the inaugural Northern California Amputee & Adaptive Classic at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville, CA, to be held March 16th & 17th, 2025. The tournament will consist of 36 holes of individual stroke play held over two days utilizing three to four rated tee locations. This will be a USAGR and World Ranking for Golfers with Disabilities (WR4GD) badged event. This golf tournament promises to be the premier West Coast Adaptive golf event in 2025 and anticipates attracting some of the highest ranked adaptive golfers from within the United States, Canada and around the world. The playing field will be limited to 69 players and be open to participants in all 15 disability classifications as listed by the USAGA, USGA and the EDGA(European Disabled Golf Association). For more information, contact Tournament Director Tim Healea through the EVENTS page of our website.
Please feel free to reach out to me or any of your WAGA Board Directors with your questions or concerns. We are looking forward to working with all of you to continue restoring WAGA to its position as the premier Western Amputee and Adaptive Golf organization.
